The Tamil romantic action comedy Dude has been making a lot of noise among fans this Diwali with its release in theatres and OTT release announced soon.

Dude released theatrically on 17 October 2025, when it screened to a full house and positive audience response for then Diwali weekend. The film is directed by Keerthiswaran and stars Pradeep Ranganathan — in his directorial debut — Mamitha Baiju as the lead pair. The story of the film is filled with friendship, comedy and young romance that’ll make for a watch-worthy entertainer for audiences. ​

Plot Overview

Dude is the story of Agan (Pradeep) and Kural (Mamitha), who have been childhood friends, but their relationship takes an emotional twist as they fall in love with each other. It’s also a story about friendship, unspoken love and self-discovery — wrapped in humor and lightheartedness. ​

OTT Release Details

If you missed the theaters, Dude will be available for streaming on Netflix beginning November 14th, 2025. Netflix has apparently grabbed the digital rights for a sum of ₹25 crore, which is one the biggest OTT deals in Tamil cinema this year. ​
