Thamma on Day 1 at the Box Office
Trade reports say that on its opening day Thamma grossed an estimated ₹24–25 crore in what’s becoming a pattern for newcomers: everyone aims to break records so Ayushmann’s new personal best is also the headquarters of producer Dinesh Vijan’s franchise under director Aditya Sarpotdar​
The Hindi audience counted its numbers at about 34.5%, peaking in the evening at over 42%. There was good turnout for metropolitan areas like Delhi NCR and Bengaluru, while Chennai saw the highest participation rate—53%. In Hyderabad alone Telugu dubs had displayed very good performance thanks to more than 100 screenings​

Thamma is a blend of horror, humor and humanity in addition to being the latest addition to his ‘Comedy-Horror Universe’ family. The film’s Rs.24.87 crore opening is not only evidence of Ayushmann Khurrana’s barking dog status in Bollywood (it is also a signal to Maddock Films’ Horror Comedy Universe that they are back in style). For the coming Diwali holiday weekend more excellent numbers at the box office are expected from Thamma.
